The Vote

I WILL BE VOTING FOR TRUMP, THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS.

Those are the words of Drew who listens to the Stand in Birmingham, Alabama.  Many American citizens feel that way, that is CRITICAL VOTE 2016 is indeed one “for the lesser of two evils.”  Both candidates, so many think, are flawed, persons without real character, and both intellectually and emotionally, not really qualified to lead our great country in this tempestuous, warlike world.  But there really is no other choice.  One of Donald John Trump or Hillary Rodham Clinton will lead us as President for the next four years.

The vast majority of Americans are worried about the direction America is heading.  There are millions who wish we the people could return to the state in which this country was founded, change back from the world of Obama and rebuild the moral foundation of our great country.  Most voters feel that neither Trump nor Clinton will do that.  Our great country is too far down the road and is indeed, many think, incapable of turning back.

In response to our question asking for whom you will vote, John from Denver says emphatically:

VOTING FOR TRUMP

No reasons why, but for him, the reasons are obviously clear.

And the same from Kathleen from Detroit who states:

I WILL VOTE FOR TRUMP

Decisive, clear and without equivocation.  Trump for her is the right man for President.

And then there is Glenn who writes to the Crawford Stand and simply says:

TRUMP!  TRUMP!  TRUMP!

Can’t be more clear or decisive than that, can he?  Whether the lesser of two evils or in fact the right man for the job, the President for him is:

DONALD JOHN TRUMP

And you, my fellow Americans, who will you vote for?  Have you decided or are you waiting?
And then there is Ron from Denver who writes:

MY SUPPORT FOR 2016 GOES TO MR. TRUMP AS HE SUPPORTS LIFE WHERE MRS. CLINTON DOES NOT.

One of the reasons, says Ron, to vote for Trump is because he is PRO-LIFE.  Others point out that Trump was once PRO-CHOICE, but changed his mind.  Some think that is a mature, moral step forward for Trump while others think it is just another example of Trump waffling, changing his mind to suit his purposes and to get what he wants.  Trump, like Obama and of course Clinton, claims that he is evolving, understanding what is right on the one-hand and also what he thinks is right for the majority of Americans.  If in fact Donald John Trump is PRO-LIFE, conservatives and Christians would view that as a real reason to vote for him.  The issue of abortion is one of America’s most critical.  Clinton, an advocate of Planned Parenthood, would of course be aggressively PRO-CHOICE.  If that is the way you think and believe, that is a good reason to vote for Clinton.  Some think that abortion is the number one issue in Elections 2016.  If you think that way, then your choice of candidate should be clear:

PRO-CHOICE: CLINTON

PRO-LIFE: TRUMP

Ken from Southern California who listens to our great station KBRT-AM writes the following:

I’M VOTING FOR TRUMP!

He goes on to say that he has been praying for a godly leader and then further states:

I’M NOT SURE TRUMP IS IT.

Many agree with him.  Trump claims a Christian awakening of some kind.  He understands the value of morality and specifically Christianity to his campaign and he attempts to associate and identify with all such.  Many however think the reaching out at the Eleventh Hour is hypocritical and unreal.  The language he uses, they say, indicates he has no real understanding of what it means to be a Christian.  Whatever he is or believes, Ken thinks that Trump would be acceptable as President because:

HE WILL SURROUND HIMSELF WITH GOOD AND KNOWLEDGABLE EXPERTS TO ADVISE HIM, POLITICALLY, ECONOMICALLY AND AS WELL SPIRITUALLY!

In short, Trump will be surrounded and advised by spiritual experts explaining and admonishing with of course the presumption that Trump will listen.  In all of the rest of his life, Trump has listened to NO ONE.  He is his own man, does his own thing and very seldom takes the advice of those who may know better.  That is especially so economically and politically.  Asking for and absorbing spiritual advice is something Trump has never done.  In fact, in times past, Trump was himself PRO-CHOICE.  More waffling, say his critics, and politically posturing now that he has been converted to PRO-LIFE.  Trump counters that his newfound conviction is real and permanent.

And, Trump offers proof of his newfound beliefs and conversion. He has established what he calls:

TRUMP EVANGELICAL EXECUTIVE ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS

This board comprised of astute, right-thinking members will advise him now and throughout his Presidency and he has promised that HE WILL LISTEN.  These chosen evangelical leaders on the Trump advisory board are indeed impressive including:

MICHELLE BACHMANN

MARK BURNS

TIM CLINTON

JAMES DOBSON

JERRY FALWELL, JR.

JACK GRAHAM

DAVID JEREMIAH

JAMES MACDONALD

RALPH REED

PAULA WHITE

Among others with considerable notoriety, experience and commitment.  If in fact Trump would listen to what would be good, solid, intelligent and insightful advice from this board, he would be a better man and President for it.  It is all about listening, really listening and DOING.  If Trump acts as this advice is given, he and America would be a better place.

Perhaps something like that leads Carol of Birmingham, Alabama, responding to the Stand’s straw poll to state:

TRUMP IS THE BETTER OF THE TWO CHOICES.

Well said, for Trump may not be the best choice, even the best candidate who vied for the Republican nomination.  But the better choice Trump or Clinton.  At least for her, Trump is not the lesser of two evils.

Then comes another reply to the Crawford Stand, the straw poll on voting from a California listener, a Christian.  This individual states emphatically:

I JUST CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW OR WHY SO MANY OTHER CHRISTIAN LEADERS ARE SUCH STAUNCH SUPPORTERS OF DONALD TRUMP.

He mentions leaders like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Jr. and others who support Trump:

WHO OBVIOUSLY IS USING THE EVANGELICAL COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO GET IN (THE PRESIDENCY)

The listener refers to Trump as an adulterer and possessed of:

“A mouth that would put a drunken sailor to shame.”

And otherwise assails the actions and character of Mr. Trump, including and especially his large ego, saying that Trump:

“Obviously thinks that he is the greatest thing since orange juice.”

For this listener, Trump’s whole campaign reminds him of a SIMPSON’S EPISODE.  It seems, he says, the more outrageous Trump gets, the more his supporters embrace him.

The listener goes on to state that he is no supporter of Hillary Clinton in any way, but says of conservatives and Trump supports:

THEY WOULD ELECT THE DEVIL HIMSELF JUST TO STOP A DEMOCRAT FROM GETTING INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.

Hard to make it any more emphatic than that, is it?  It is interesting how the persona, the way of communicating, and the mouth of Donald Trump can incite such a reaction from so many.  Many of his advisors think that they should just let:

TRUMP BE TRUMP

He got the nomination being Trump, with his mouth unpredictable and often vulgar, and he should gain the Presidency OR NOT as he is and without any sanitation.  Trump for many can be far more articulate, sensitive, insightful and extremely intelligent.  But he, being Trump, shoots from the hip and lets the chip fall where they may.  Many think that is anything but Presidential even though so many agree that Trump could be such if he would think before he spoke.

Then comes a very different response to the Crawford Stand Straw Poll 2016 from Tom who says:

I WILL BE VOTING FOR DONALD TRUMP IN NOVEMBER.  I DON’T SEE HOW ANY TRUE CHRISTIAN COULD DO OTHERWISE GIVEN THE CHOICES AS THEY ARE.

In short, when for Tom the political balance sheets, the assets and liabilities of both candidates are compared, Trump and his positions and beliefs are more compatible with Christian values than Clinton, no matter Trump’s liabilities.  And perhaps he is right.  Whether ObamaCare, heading slowly but surely toward disaster, abortion, the aggressive advancement of the Gay Agenda, attacks on freedom of religion and speech, all such will surely continue and even aggressively advance under a Clinton Presidency.  Trump, the opposite in so many ways, may indeed be a better choice for Christians.  What do you think?

Tom goes on to say:

IS THIS REALLY THE BEST WE CAN DO (CLINTON OR TRUMP AS PRESIDENT) FOR SUCH A GREAT NATION?

Perhaps the majority of Americans would agree that by no means are Clinton and Trump the best we can do.  But, with ten weeks to decide, they are our only choice.  So, my fellow Americans, for whom will you vote?  Have you decided?

Then comes Marilyn from Detroit who listens to our great station WMUZ-FM and is a “lover” of the Bob Dutko Show, as are we.  She says:

I AM VOTING FOR TRUMP AS-IS MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER.  I ALSO SO GREATLY APPRECIATE HOW HE SURROUNDED HIMSELF WITH REALLY STRONG CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN LEADERS.

Marilyn is obviously referring to the TRUMP EVANGELICAL EXECUTIVE ADVISORY BOARD, comprised of some of the nation’s finest evangelical leaders.  Perhaps such evangelical advice, taken by Trump would provide some hope that America could return to its original values, to the moral principles which have made us great and stemmed the radical secular onslaught.  Perhaps indeed that would happen if Trump were President.

And then comes Doug from Denver area who listens to our great station KLZ-AM 560.  Doug says:

I PLAN TO VOTE FOR DONALD J. TRUMP

Doug thinks that Hillary Clinton would be dead wrong for America, claiming that is an Alinskyite and will do or say anything to get elected President.  He thinks Clinton will win because:

ONCE AGAIN, REPUBLICANS CAN’T GET IT TOGETHER.

And perhaps he is right.  It seems as though the Republican Party election after election never really gets it together, gets the right candidate at the right time, and really aggressively and all together supports that candidate.  The Democrats may, many think, win so often by default.  That is because as Doug says:

THEY (THE REPUBLICANS) SEEM TOO STUPID TO FIGURE THINGS OUT.

This man has a son who teaches at West Point with four children.  He is concerned with our military because of the rise of ISIS and a feeble response by the Obama Administration.  For him, there seems little hope for America but if there is any, Trump of the two can provide it.

And Joe from Detroit who listens to WMUZ reminds us of the fraudulent Clinton Foundation which he views as little more than a slush fund for Bill and Hillary.  Joe thinks that the entering of America by illegal aliens are:

PATTING THE ROLES OF A DEMOCRATIC VOTER BASE.

Whether allowed to vote or not.  Joe is concerned that jobs, legitimate work goes to these illegitimates, these illegals, not legal American citizens.  Joe then states what may be the underlying problem and the motivation for so many to vote for Trump:

THE WORD IS SPREADING OF THE GROWING DISCONTENT OF THE POPULUS WITH OUR GOVERNMENT.

NO MATTER WHO IS ELECTED, IT IS ALWAYS POLITICS AS USUAL, COMPROMISE, AND WITHOUT CHANGE AND THE EVER-GROWING POWER OF THE POLITICAL ELITE.

That is true, says Joe, not only politically but economically where there is the constant “rise of the elite 1%” who feels that we, the working class, are here to supply their needs.”

Interesting comments from Joe of the working class who is a good thinker and analyzes things well.  What do you think, about illegal immigration, jobs, the economy, the wealthy1% and most importantly, the elite political class in Washington which rules us?

Then comes the Southern Californian who listens to our great station KBRT and Mark describes himself as follows:

I AM A REGISTERED INDEPENDENT, CHRISTIAN, CONSERVATIVE, CONSTITUTIONALIST, PATRIOT AND VETERAN OF THE U.S. ARMY.

Mark should be proud of every one of those. Mark says:

I AM VOTING FOR MR. TRUMP

Mark says of Hillary Clinton:

I COULD NEVER VOTE FOR ANY SCANDAL-PLAYED CANDIDATE SUCH AS CLINTON.

She would be (in Mark’s opinion) an unmitigated disaster for our future especially with regard to the Supreme Court.  I think the Clintons need to be put out to pasture.

Mark then goes on to say of Donald Trump:

TRUMP IS SMART ENOUGH TO HIRE SMART PEOPLE TO ADVISE HIM SO THAT HE CAN MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS THAT WILL BENEFIT THE MOST AMERICAN CITIZENS FOR THE MOST GOOD.

Yet again another American Patriot, a veteran, one deeply concerned with our country who thinks that we are faced with choices which are better and not necessarily the best (or right).

These replies to the Crawford Stand are generally indicative of the political philosophies and predilections of listeners to the Stand even though there are of course many more.  We are grateful for their response and we hope you as well so that we can understand your thinking, and how you will vote.  But, vote you must, my fellow Americans.  YOU MUST VOTE!  You can not sit on the sidelines and do nothing.  This is your country, our country and we must be heard and influence the future of the world’s greatest country.

The world seems dark, troubled, warlike and hopeless for many.  But that hopelessness only happens when, as Edmund Burke said, good men and women abandon the political arena and turn it over to the bad.  There perhaps is no way we could declare either Trump or Clinton good, much less right for our great country.  But again, one of Trump or Clinton is our only choice.  I therefore implore you to think through the issues, and the candidates, and to provide America with:

YOUR BEST VOTE

Larry from Southern California who listens to KBRT-AM says the following:

“The only thing that can save America is a revival.”

He may be right.  But a revival can start with a vote from an active, concerned, passionate American who will get involved, stay involved and make certain that our country becomes great again:

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

It can be, it will be, if YOU act and do the right thing.  Act, vote and do the right thing.

There is hope for America and that hope begins with you.
