the Crawford Broadcasting Company exists to oversee the
engineering operations of the company's 26 radio
stations. We are responsible for research and
development, project oversight, facility design and
construction, purchasing, budgeting and all hiring of
engineering personnel.
Crawford
Broadcasting Company strives to maintain
state-of-the-art studio and transmitter facilities,
utilizing the latest developments in technology to make
our signals the very best that they can be. Crawford has
taken the art of AM broadcasting to new levels with
solid-state transmitters, broadband antenna systems and
the very latest in audio processing technology. It is
also on the leading edge of digital technology, being
among the first in the nation to transmit High
Definition (HD) Radio signals on some of its FM
stations.
Our
Staff
Each of our major clusters is staffed with a chief
engineer and one or more assistant engineers. Our chief
engineers are highly-trained broadcast specialists with
years of experience in the broadcast engineering field.
They are chosen not only for their skills and experience
but also for their commitment to excellence. Most of our
chief engineers have been with the company for many
years. These skilled, capable and committed individuals
are a key part of Crawford's commitment to technical
excellence.
Assistant
engineers are hired and trained with a view to
reproducing properly-trained and skilled chief
engineers. Our chief engineers treat their assistants as
apprentices, teaching them and giving them the benefit
of their knowledge and years of experience.

At
the corporate level, Cris Alexander serves as the
Director of Corporate Engineering. Cris has held this
position since 1984. In addition to his administrative
function, he serves as a resource to all the chief
engineers in the company, providing assistance and
guidance when needed as well as maintaining a central
pool of highly specialized test equipment that is
available to any of the market chief engineers upon
request.
